About Us

The Atherton Tablelands Visitor Information Centre provides a friendly welcome by knowledgeable staff and volunteers who offer expert local advice and free information on exploring the region. The centre can assist with bookings for a wide range of attractions and accommodation and is also a Queensland National Park Booking Agent, so just ask them about camping queries and bookings.

On the third Thursday of each month during the peak season (April to October) the centre offers a free local produce tasting at their ‘Food Safari’ showcasing Tableland produce from delicious cheeses, yoghurts, fruits and nuts to jams, chutneys, native fruits, teas and coffee.

The region is also well known for its military history and during the months of June, July and August in 2022 the centre provides booking services for a local 1/2 day guided tour of WWII historical sites across Tolga, Tinaroo and Atherton every Wednesday.

To cater for the growing number of cyclists there is a bike rack just outside the door and a range of maps showing local tracks both mountain biking and road biking are available.

The centre offers a large range of souvenirs including locally grown and made produce, along with local arts and crafts giving you plenty of choice for quality gifts from the region and you can charge up your phone or iPad and use the free Wi-Fi.
